The planting of the Commemorative Silver Jubilee tree.
Mick Gaden, seen in the brown suit, was Parish Council Chairman at the time. He was a local farmer, in the fields behind the pub, supplied logs in the area, and was a Special Constable, assisting the Police Force. In addition, he found time for various prominent positions on local bodies, excelling in keeping the village together. He thus became affectionately known as the 'Mayor of Bourton'.
