An archive photo of the village Post Office and shop in Bourton on the Hill', looking towards the main road. A sign reading, 'Post Office, Public telephone' hangs from the shop front. A gentlemen in dark trousers and waistcoat, white shirt with rolled up sleeves and a flat cap stands in the unsurfaced road. He is holding something, possibly a dog. Two further men, a young child, a lady and a small dog are standing in front of the shop. Their clothing suggests the picture was taken around 1910. A farmhouse, known as Middle Farm, is seen a the back of the photograph. It has a picket fence in front of it and a shrub growing up the front wall.
