Batsford Arboretum boasts one of the largest private tree collections in the country. The arboretum’s collections encompass a diverse array of plants from various parts of the world, with a particular focus on the Far East. The grounds are home to more than 2,850 labelled specimens, comprising approximately 1,300 distinct trees, shrubs, and bamboo varieties. The arboretum encompasses 56 acres of untamed gardens, meandering paths, babbling streams, picturesque vistas, and exquisite oriental-inspired statues, providing interest throughout the year. Batsford also boasts an impressive visitor centre, complete with a café offering homemade lunches, cakes, and afternoon teas. Additionally, there is a garden and gift shop, as well as a charming plant centre situated within the confines of the former Victorian walled garden.
